Josafá Marengo

Java developer at one of the largest banks in Latin America. I work on high-volume APIs with hard SLAs, regulated by the Brazilian central bank — the last two years on Open Finance, before that on payments and checkout.

In practice that means shipping on tight deadlines with no room for error: these systems are audited, and the rules change whenever the regulator publishes a new bulletin. I work from development through architecture, including the database remodelling we are running now, and the mainframe integration — which means reading COBOL and talking to applications older than my career.

Away from the code: I take part in technical interviews and team training, work with the PM on what goes into each release, and currently lead how our team adopts AI in its workflow.
